چکیده

Abstract The present work reports the investigation performed by comparing adsorption abilities of modified/grafted polymethacrylic acid (PMAA) functionalized with dihydroxy benzene like catechol (CAT) and catechol-hydroquinone (CAT-HQ) an oxidative decarboxylation method using potassium dichromate as oxidant to absorb Malachite green (MG) dye from aqueous solution through batch experiments. percentage substitution monomers PMAA was found be 94.5% 95.7% for PMAA/CAT PMAA/CAT-HQ respectively. FTIR SEM studies were determined reveal modification PMAA. In order efficiently extract malachite solution, effects different parameters contact time, pH, concentration adsorbent dosage systematically studied. change on surface morphology polymers after analysed FT-IR spectra images have considerable changes chosen dye. test has shown that Langmuir isotherm model is better than Freundlich model. monolayer capacity 97mg/g 102 mg/g at 31°C.
